Your Question. Thousands of Answers. Become a Co-Author of the Geographical Dictation 2026

Have a question about Russia that deserves the spotlight? Submit it now. The 2026 Geographical Dictation is looking for fresh questions—and yours could be answered by thousands of people around the world. Submit your idea by June 1st for a chance to become a co-author of one of Russia's largest educational campaigns. The best entries will be included in future editions of the Dictation, reaching participants from students to seasoned geography enthusiasts across the globe.

Put your creativity to the test. Your questions should focus on Russia's geography and events connected to its territory. Draw inspiration from the country's natural landscapes, climate, historical expeditions, cultural traditions, or iconic landmarks. Topics related to other countries or the history of geographical discoveries and famous explorers are welcome – as long as they connect to Russia.

Make sure your questions are original. Check the archive on our website to ensure they haven't already appeared in the Geographical Dictation between 2015 and 2025.

We only accept closed-ended questions with answer choices, and each question must have exactly one correct answer.

Accepted formats:

  • Multiple choice (one correct answer)
  • Sequencing (putting events or objects in the right order)
  • Matching (pairing related items)
  • Identification (naming a place, object, or phenomenon from a description)

The Geographical Dictation reaches a wide audience – from students to seniors. You can submit questions at two difficulty levels:

Basic questions should be clear and accessible to everyone.

Advanced questions should challenge participants to think analytically and make connections between geography, history, and culture.

Beyond the main competition, you can also submit questions in these special categories:

"Geography of Unity: Heritage and Cultural Code of the Country" – How has Russia's natural environment shaped its culture, traditions, and national identity?

"Museum Map of Russia" – Questions about museum collections, famous exhibits, and the stories behind them.

"Geography of the Future: Technologies and Discoveries" – Russia's contributions to science, technology, and modern tools for exploring Earth and space.

"Discovering Russia: The Key to Understanding" – Questions designed to help international audiences discover Russia's geography and cultural distinctiveness.

"Horizons of Geography: Expert Level" – Challenging questions for true enthusiasts. The best entries will be featured in "Geographic Dictation PRO," a special online version for experts.
